It is now estimated that over 50% of all marriages in this country will end in divorce.  An even higher percentage of second
marriages also fail.  If you are concerned about your relationship it is better to seek help early on in a relationship before long-
term resentments and problems occur.  The kinds of problems couple seek counseling for are almost as varied as the couples
themselves.

                                                          •        Money Problems
                                                          •        Sexual Issues/Infidelity
                                                          •        Children and Parenting Issues
                                                          •        Religion Issues
                                                          •        Jealously/Control Issues
                                                          •        In-law/Family Issues
                                                          •        Work/Career Conflicts
                                                          •        Communication Issues
                                                          •        Change of Life Issues

When entering into couples counseling the goal is to clarify issues and to help you and your spouse to communicate more
effectively, and to come to a resolution regarding the concerns you are having.  If your spouse is unwilling to seek counseling, it
may be helpful for you to seek counseling on your own to get another perspective regarding your relationship.   The goal in
couples counseling is to help you explore issues, to clarify the difficulties you may be having and to find more effective ways to
communicate with your spouse or partner.  If you are interested in couple counseling the following is a list of professionals who
are trained to provide such services:

 •        Clergy and Pastoral Counselors
                                                          •        Marriage and Family Therapists
                                                          •        Clinical Social Workers
                                                          •        Professional Counselors
                                                          •        Psychologists and Psychiatrists
                                                          •        Mental Health Professionals

If you and your spouse are struggling or if you feel you want more from your relationship couples counseling may be an
excellent place to begin.
